Any student approved by the director that he feels is necessary for the success of the band program.
Band members will be all students that participate in the activities of the band. This will include all instrumentalists, Majorettes, Dance, Color Guard and Band helpers.
No band member may have a working job that interferes with practices, games, and competitions, or participate in any other extracurricular activity or fall sport that would interfere with band practices, games, etc.
All band members must, for the last 2 semesters of attendance and summer school, have a passing grade and earn the appropriate number of credits in each of the six (6) Carnegie units of credit, including four (4) credits from the four (4) cores of subject composed of English, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics with a composite numerical average of 70.
A student who is eligible at the start of the academic year remains eligible for the entire academic year. Students deemed ineligible at the beginning of the year by virtue of having failed to meet the requirements outlined above may retain their eligibility at the end of the first semester by meeting eligibility in the most recently completed semesters, including summer school. Eligibility restoration must be determined no later than five (5) school days after the beginning of their succeeding semester.
All Marching and Concert band students are required to be in band class unless excused by the band director.
All band students panning to march are required to attend the week of band camp. If for some reason a student will not be able to attend, that band director, prior to band camp, must approve it. If not approved, the student will not be able to march until music is passed off and marching drill learned. As part of the punishment for missing band camp the student will have to sit in the stands during their 3rd quarter break for the first three games of the season.

Before participating in any band activity, each student must present evidence from a properly licensed physician ensuring the student is in appropriate cardiovascular condition to participate in band activities.
Students must realize being a band member will require them to make an effort in representing our school the best way they can, including: managing their weight, grooming, and proper care of their uniform.
During performances and games, uniforms must be neat and clean at ALL times and worn correctly. If a uniform is damaged in the student's possession, the student will be charged for the proper repairs. A uniform inspection will be performed by the director prior to games and performances.
It is MANDATORY for all students participating in band to be present at every after school rehearsal, performance, parade. football games (home and away) and marching festivals. . If a student is involved in any other extracurricular with conflicting after-school practices, the student MUST attend at least half of the band practices. Missed practices, performances, or football games due to involvement in other school functions or activities will be excused upon the director's approval, given the director is notified two weeks prior to event. Rehearsal attendance will count as 25% of the final grade.
There will be weekly skills assessments given based upon the student's display of ability to perform the musical material that is covered during school, which will count as 25% of his/her final grade.
Students are expected to follow the same rules and guidelines established by the Henry Co Board of Education, including (but not limited to): cleaning up after yourself, coming prepared, being on time, not only respecting yourself and others, but instruments as well, etc.
Whenever the Director or Band Boosters assigns a fund-raiser, a minimum (but reasonable) amount will be assigned for each child to raise to ensure that every child does his/her part.
