A Message from our Director of Bands
"The goal of the Headland Band Program is to ultimately provide our students with a lifelong understanding and appreciation for quality music and music making. The Headland Band means a great deal to those of us who have been a part of its recent success and wish to uphold the group's fine tradition. Perhaps our most rewarding accomplishment is that many of our band graduates have gone to experience great success at some of the country's finest colleges and universities."

our philosophy
Music is the means by which we train the emotions. Music along with academics makes a well-rounded individual. We believe that music and academics are an important part of every students' education. Band is open to all students at Headland High School without discrimination of sex, race, or intellectual ability. Band is the musical performance group at Headland and all who are involved can benefit from it. Some of these benefits include self-discipline, high self-esteem, cooperation, teamwork, and self expression. Band is a social activity where social skills can be learned. Therefore, all trips and activities are planned with this in mind.
